“The first project I worked with Kahuna Ventures/Design on was the relocation of a 1300 GPM amine unit from Lavonia, Louisiana to the Ramsey facility north of Pecos, Texas. The project was fast track. Kahuna was engaged in January 2013 with no previous knowledge of the Ramsey facility or the Judge Digby plant that was to be moved. Kahuna’s scope was to develop the entire engineering package with no FEED study, provide project management, procurement and on site engineering. At no time during the project was the general contractor waiting on drawings or information to complete the project. The unit was placed in service in July 2013.
Kahuna Ventures/Design continued at the Ramsey Facility with the Balance Of Plant engineering/design for the installation of the 200 MMSCFD Cameron/Randall NGL Max plant. Kahuna’s scope was again to develop the entire engineering package with no FEED study, provide project management, procurement and on site engineering. The project was started in August 2013 and the plant was placed on line on April 1, 2014.
Working with Kahuna has been like having our own engineering staff in house. Nuevo’s projects have been treated as if they were the only projects Kahuna was working on. “On Time Engineering” isn’t just a catch phrase for Kahuna, they live it every day. In my 40 years in this business I have never worked with a more professional and focused group of engineers that know how to get things done!”
